On Wednesday, Dec 28, 2011, two members of MAC, Bob K0KVK and Henry K9KDE, made contact during the 4:30pm Chaverium Net on 14.342 with MAC member Nick KG9E.
Nick has been traveling for the past year in his RV and was operating from the lowest point in the US, Badwater Salt Flats National Park in California.

Nick had to hike all his stuff: radio, antenna, chair, table, solar panel & batteries, water and food two miles into the flats to operate using 100% solar power.
His signal may have improved due to the salt crust basin, using it as a ground plane.
