Of interest to ham radio operators, would be an article Bill wrote in
September 2000, which speaks of his beginnings in radio.
http://www.k9ya.org/articles/hamfester.pdf Bill was a ham's ham and earned
his first DXCC using a receiver and transmitter he designed and built. A
DXer at heart, Bill later earned a place at the top of the DXCC Honor Roll.
Bill spent much of his career at Shure Bros. in Evanston, IL. He was the
father of the Shure 444 communications microphone, which hams of any
generation would recognize.
